Snow days in Montana are gone… at least until October, and it has been raining here and there the past two weeks. Since I’ve became an adult, I never liked the rain. I’m from Washington state, and you would think I would be okay with it, but I’m not, lol. I left rain for snow, and now I’m starting to prefer rain 😂 Smoke from Canada’s fires had come our way, too, so the rain helped with that, as well as helped our yard. It’s so luscious and green!
I have been meaning to start my seedlings, but I have been quite busy, tired, and lazy, to be honest. We bought tomato, squash, and carrots. I hope to get them started Monday at the latest.

I have been quite busy – well, I am always busy, hence my name 😂 The last month of last semester was really stressful. I was worried I was not going to pass two of the classes that I really needed, but I did it! I was really proud of myself and hope that I never have to go through that again. I am on track to graduate in December (woo!).
Besides school, I have been busy with my photography business. I was contacted by a magazine to photograph a family. My photos will be published, and I am very excited! It is a small magazine, but I still see it as an accomplishment. 😊 I have a couple of weddings and sessions lined up for June (just about every weekend), so that is exciting as well. I was hoping to fill my summer days with photography work, but I ended up getting a full-time job!
I saw this job posting on Indeed, and I hemmed and hawed for a couple of weeks before deciding to apply. I wanted to work, but I also did not want to work. So my partner said that I should apply, and if I get it, then awesome and if I did not get it, that’s okay too. So, I spent hours looking for the best resume format and updating my resume. I last worked on it in 2017, so it is quite different now. I love that resumes are a lot more creative now compared to fifteen years ago.
The next day, I uploaded my resume to Indeed, and then I decided I should probably write a cover letter before applying for this position. I did not have any hands-on experience in this field, and graduation was not until December, so I felt I needed this letter. I went to class and got some assignments out of the way, then proceeded to look up cover letter examples (I had only written one in the past, lol). I get an email while searching, and it is from a different clinic for the same position! She said that my resume was what they were looking for and would like to set up an interview. So that was exciting. I set up the interview, and a couple of days later, they offered me the job! It doesn’t pay much, but that is okay, I am more in it for the experience.
Everyone is so nice, and although I was feeling self-conscious, I am starting to feel more comfortable (it has been two weeks already). Going from hardly working to a full-time job unexpectedly was quite an adjustment for me. Four days into the first week, I felt like I was going to have a mental breakdown from feeling overwhelmed and inadequate, but I am okay now. I get to work with 2.5 to 5 year olds, so it has been really fun and exhausting. I literally run around the clinic chasing my kiddo… and I really shouldn’t be running. I’m still recovering from ankle/foot surgery and still going to physical therapy. I sprained my ankle a little over a month ago, and it is taking a while to heal. 🙄
I think I will end here for now! I have other stuff to talk about, but I will save it for later. Please let me know what you have planned for this memorial weekend!
Well done on your job! Hope your ankle is healing.
