The last couple of months, we have been waiting for our long weekend! Took us awhile to figure out what we wanted to do.. very limited right now because of Covid. We thought about going to Las Vegas, but decided to stay home instead.
THURSDAY, APRIL 1
We booked a 90-minute couples massage at Restful Touch Massage. It was at 10 AM so it was a nice way to start our long weekend! If you haven’t had a couples massage before, I recommend it! We never talk during our sessions, but it is still nice and relaxing.
After our wonderful massages, we hit up our favorite local brewery, Bridger Brewing, for pizza, salad and ginger beer. They have gigantic pizza slices and their Bridger Chop salad is my favorite!
We spent the rest of day cleaning, doing homework and getting ready for Friday.
FRIDAY, APRIL 2
Our plan for this day was to go to Yellowstone National Park. We didn’t wake up until 9 AM and we were feeling very tired so we were not sure if we wanted to go. Eventually we decided to go Sunday instead. Because we didn’t really plan on anything, we decided to go to brunch!
I’ve been wanting to go to Storm Castle Café for a very long time… I do not know why it took this long for me to go. My BFF in Texas told me that it was on Guy Fieri’s Food Network show “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,” so that made me want to go even more.
Everything on the menu sounded delicious, so we had a hard time deciding what to get. Our waitress told us about their Baria Breakfast Special so I decided to get that. My boyfriend ordered their biscuits and gravy – his usual order when he cannot decide, lol.
After brunch, we did errands, such as grocery shopping, returning a purchase, and scheduling foot massages for both of us! We stayed home the rest of the day.
SATURDAY, APRIL 3
We started the day by going to the bank and grabbing smoothies from Blended: Smoothie Bar & Protein Shakes! I absolutely love smoothies and so I have been wanting to go here for awhile. I ordered their Mango Berry Burst, which had mangoes, pineapple, strawberries, and 20g Vanilla Whey Protein. My boyfriend got the Berry, Berry Good smoothie – strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, banana, and 20g Vanilla Whey Protein. We really enjoyed the smoothies, and I plan on going back to try other flavors.
After we grabbed smoothies, it was back to the mall for our foot massages. We decided to get the 40-minute massage because it was only $5.00 more than the 30-minute massage. This was my first foot massage… and it was not relaxing. It was actually a bit painful, but it was the good kind of pain. He really worked out the bottom of my feet, so when we walked out, I felt like the emotional baggage I had been carrying around for awhile, had lifted. My boyfriend said that he felt lighter, as well! I recommend you try it at least once. We plan on going back!
After foot massages, we rushed home to do some light cleaning inside and the backyard. They aren’t kidding when they said that having a puppy is the same as having kids. His indoor toys were scattered all over the yard, lol. We setup the kiddie pool we bought the day before because it was a pretty warm day. He played in it for a few minutes.
Two of our close friends and their pup came over for lunch. We grilled burgers and I made onion rings for the first time! I wish I took a picture because they were perfect and tasted delicious! Of course, I plan on making them again once the weather starts warming up and we grill more! I spent the rest of the day being lazy.
SUNDAY, APRIL 4

We woke up around 6:30 AM to leave the house around 7:30 AM. I already had most of everything packed from our original plans. We brought our pup with us and it was his first long drive. We stopped a few times to let him out and also so he could calm down a bit. I think he got a little car sick.
This time of year, the Northeast Entrance is the only entrance that is open – it the Mammoth Hot Springs entrance. Usually when I go through Yellowstone, I always end up exiting through this entrance. So it was a little different for me.
When we entered, we stopped to give the pup a potty break and for me to get my camera gear together. A family approached us and their mom said that the whole family was excited to see a Corgi in the park, lol. They were more excited about our dog than they were about the nearby bison and antelope! They gave him some pets, which he always enjoys, and took a couple of pictures with him.

There is still some snow and the lakes were frozen, but the roads were clear. We drove through all the way to Cooke City to have lunch. Not too many places were open, which we expected, but we stopped at Soda Butte Lodge to have lunch in the Prospector Restaurant.
We were the only ones there, so it was pretty quiet. The place is very clean and the staff all wore masks. The staff was very friendly and one of the guys even came to talk to us about the weather and the view. We didn’t have cell service, but they offer guests free wifi.
Everything on their menu sounded very delicious and it was all decently priced. I had the Malibu Chicken sandwich (grilled chicken breast, topped with ham, pineapple and swiss cheese on a grilled bun) and my boyfriend had their Club sandwich (ham, turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, swiss & American cheese on toasted white bread). The sandwiches came with a side of tater tots, and it was very filling!
I was very satisfied with this trip! We saw bison, antelope, deer, wolves (mama & baby), and a mama & baby moose! I was able to get a few photos, but unfortunately, not of the moose. They were two cars ahead and by the time I saw them, they were galloping behind some trees.

We plan on visiting again next month! My boyfriend said that the bears should be awake and we should be able to see more babies. I hope to find my big lens so that I can zoom in more. I cannot wait!
