Hello Fresh

We received our first Hello Fresh box last Wednesday. It has been fun making something new for dinner each night!

We decided to try it out because we have been so busy this semester. I’m taking 3 classes plus doing an internship; boyfriend is working, teaching and taking 1 class. If I don’t plan/prepare the night before, we end up going out to eat because it’s more convenient and faster.

Hello Fresh takes us some time to make than it says on the recipe… sometimes it takes longer to make and not that long to finish our meal, lol. Hopefully we will get faster at making them.

This is what we had this past week:

Wednesday, 10/6 – Cheddar Wonderburgers with Old Bay Fries
Friday, 10/8 – Szechuan Beef Noodles & Sesame Seeds
Saturday, 10/9 – Apricot Ponzu Chicken with Ginger Lime Rice & Roasted Broccoli
Sunday, 10/10 – One-Pan Pineapple Salsa Chicken Tacos; this was supposed to be pork but they sent chicken instead. They credited us $15 got the mistake
Monday, 10/11 – Thai Ginger Curry… Boyfriend added the chicken strips
Tuesday, 10/12 – Ricotta Tomato Stuffed Ravioli with Toasted Panko Sauce, Lemony Squash & Parsley.

My boyfriend said the burger was his favorite meal of the week. Mine was the Szechuan noodles.

Our new box arrives tomorrow and I’m excited to see how everything turns out. I am also curious to see how much money we end up saving by doing this!

Have you tried Hello Fresh, Blue Apron, etc? What do/did you like and dislike?
