Brown Black & Blue.

The Christmas Potluck was a success last Saturday. It was a crazy busy day. Our pup had a grooming appointment at noon. My friend’s son’s 4th birthday party was from 4-6pm and our potluck started at 6pm.

The dog’s appointment took about 3.5 hours, when it usually takes 1.5-2 hours. Apparently, he was just not having it with the blow dryer. I told my friend we weren’t gonna make her son’s party so we’d see them the next day. That made things easier because I was still behind on cleaning and getting food started.

Slow Cooker Hot Apple Cider (recipe)

We decided to cook the ham in the slow cooker! It was the first time, and I’ve been wanting to try it the past few years. We usually have ham twice a year – Thanksgiving and Christmas. Many of the recipes I found called for pineapple juice, but we subbed orange juice because one of our friends has an allergy. Came out tasty! We made too much green bean casserole and mashed potatoes, and I made the charcuterie board. I decided last minute to make some hot apple cider in our other slow cooker. That was delicious, too! The charcuterie was a hit, and everyone destroyed the board when we placed it down, lol. Friends brought chocolate layered cake, pumpkin pie, veggie tray, and Milano cookies. I wish I remembered to take photos… and I call myself a photographer šŸ˜‚.

After dinner, I decided I wanted us to play White Elephant before we started any card or board games. In my bag, I got a new coffee mug, turkey shaped chocolates and socks. My partner got a cat bag, lol – pink Tumblr and some cat toys. One friend kept getting his presents taken away – including the one my boyfriend ended up with. He took it because our friend doesn’t have cats (we have 3), and the next present he would open was ours. He liked ours because they were Nerf guns, and his son collects them. One friend stole back the item he brought, so everyone ended up with something cool! I hope we play this again next year. After White Elephant, we played Just One for maybe 3.5-4 hours. It was so much fun! Everyone left around 11:30pm.

Now I’m going to need a week or so to recharge after these past few weeks. We have been watching Smallville from the beginning, and honestly, it is all that I want to do right now. I am still playing with my Cricut Maker. I don’t have the Cricut Insert Cards, so I figured out how to make the design without them!

Also, tonight, I finally finished the coven photo shoot and published it to my blog. I have two boudoir sessions to do, but that shouldn’t take too long. I am hoping to get back to work in a week or so.

I still have a lot to do, such as figure out my class schedule for next semester and plan my classes up until graduation. I’ve been feeling so disorganized, behind and all over the place lately. I know I need a routine, but it is so hard to get into one and keep at it. I just purchased a digital ADHD planner, so I’m hoping that’ll help me. I haven’t touched my regular planner since surgery…

Oh! And I finally fixed my booger green hair problem. My friend came over yesterday to color my hair. I was going to color my whole head with the original blue I bought, but decided to color brown black on top and the blue underneath. It is very subtle, so next time, we will use a vibrant blue.

But now it is bedtime. I hope you have a nice week!

  1. I love doing the white elephant exchange. We do it every year in our family. I am having my entire family at my house on Sunday. We will do the exchange then. I have a big family and that makes it so much fun. Wonderful memories. I would have loved the cat bag. I have five cats so I am all about anything cat. Have a wonderful week.
