Busy Being Tara

A little bit of life, a little bit of adventure.

Vegas: Meghan’s Bachelorette Party: Day 2 (June 20)

The Golden Nugget Pool

We started the day with a stop at Starbucks before heading to the pool with our drinks in hand. Our cabana was in direct sunlight, so it was definitely warm, but it was still a great spot to relax. We ordered some food and a few alcoholic beverages, then spent the afternoon enjoying the pool. We ended up staying for about seven hours, soaking up the sunshine, unwinding, and getting plenty of Vitamin D. It was the perfect way to spend the day and a much-needed chance to relax.

One disappointing part of the day was discovering that some of our belongings had become infested with ants. We noticed them crawling on a few of our items around the cabana area, which was definitely unpleasant and put a slight damper on an otherwise enjoyable afternoon. Thankfully, we were still able to enjoy the day, but it wasn’t exactly the souvenir we were hoping to bring back from the pool!

The Shark Attack

Chart House

For dinner, we headed to the Chart House located inside the Golden Nugget. I ordered a Caged Tiki cocktail and chose their three-course dinner option. My meal started with a rich and flavorful lobster bisque, followed by a delicious shrimp pasta entrée. I had my warm lava cake (dessert) packed up to enjoy later. We were short on time, as we were headed to a show!

The Excalibur

After dinner, it was finally time for the show we had been looking forward to: Thunder From Down Under! Before the performance started, we had the opportunity to take photos with two of the performers. Meghan ended up purchasing the photos so we’d have a fun souvenir to remember the night. It was a great way to kick off the experience, and the excitement in the room was definitely building as we waited for the show to begin.

Meghan had splurged on the VIP Booths for us, but honestly, it didn’t seem to come with any real perks. No one ever came by to take drink orders, and the dancers had very little interaction with our tables. Throughout the show, it seemed like the same handful of people in the audience were getting most of the attention, which was a bit frustrating. We still enjoyed the performance, but the VIP experience definitely didn’t live up to what we expected, especially given the extra cost.

The Golden Nugget

After the show, we headed back to the hotel. Rebecca had been craving Chick-fil-A all weekend, so they went to grab food while Eryn, Tracey, and I made our way back to our room. By that point, I was completely exhausted and more than ready to get out of my dress and relax.

While winding down for the night, I started doing some packing and discovered that I still had ants in my belongings. I was not happy. I spent some time checking through my things. My biggest concern was bringing them home with me. The last thing I want is for my luggage to be infested and end up introducing ants into my house.

Eventually, the others came up with their Chick-fil-A, and we played Girls in Bar Bathrooms, treating it a lot like Cards Against Humanity. It was a fun way to end the evening. After the others headed back to their room, I climbed into bed and fell asleep almost immediately.
