I survived surgery! It’s been a week already, and it hasn’t been too bad. It’s definitely a lot easier for me to get around because I know how to do it. I saw my podiatrist last Thursday (3 days post op), and he said the stitches were looking pretty good already. Taking the wrap off was surprising and sickening – five friends requested I send them the photos, haha! I won’t go into details or post the picture. I also saw the x-ray, which isn’t as bad – it was cool to see where we are waiting for bone to grow.
It was my partner’s birthday yesterday, and we celebrated with his mom. She brought dinner and the cake: black bean soup, salad, oven-baked sweet potatoes, spaghetti & meatballs and German chocolate cake. We weren’t going to have a birthday party like we have had the past 7 years but then decided we wanted to invite a few friends over next Saturday. It’ll be our usual celebration: dinner, cake and some type of board or card game. It’s been a while since we’ve hung out with friends.
I filled out the necessary paperwork to request medical leave of absence from school and dropped out of the semester. Other than that, I haven’t been doing much but watching television and editing photos.
I usually wait until it gets closer to Thanksgiving to start up my Hallmark Channel subscription, but since I’m not doing anything else, I figured I should get a head start on it, hehe. I’ve been debating if I should start decorating for Christmas. Driving by homes at night, I have seen several homes with Christmas trees up already, so I’m trying to decide if I should start decorating now or wait until it gets closer to Thanksgiving. I’m pretty minimal with my decorations.
When do you start decorating for the holidays? What are some of your family traditions or traditions you’d like to start?
I really want to do Christmas photos this year, especially since we didn’t do them last Christmas for Roux’s first Christmas. I feel really bad, although a cat probably doesn’t care or isn’t even aware of their first whatever. With our other cats and our dog, we’ve taken family pictures and mailed them out to family and friends. I did suggest matching pajamas, but he didn’t sound too excited about it, lol.
I am falling asleep, so I will have to end this and post another. Have a good night!
